Description

This painting is part of the Extreme Environments- Underwater Worlds series. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is an exploration of opportunities to find energy, hope and renewal in the most adverse conditions. Studying hydrothermal vents, fissures occurring on the seafloor from which geothermally heated water discharges, has provided me with countless examples of how living creatures surrounding them are capable to find a way to adapt, survive and thrive in complete darkness, high temperatures and under extreme pressure.
